Join us each Friday at 9:45 for Success by Six playgroup and BNML
Storytime!  Meet new friends, play games, do crafts, and listen to
stories for those Birth to age 6 and their adult caregiver!  Please
note that playgroup follows the school calendar, so if school is off,
there is no playgroup that day!

Bonjour ! Voulez vous parler français ? Do you want to speak French ?

Friends of BNML is offering French for Beginners!  Students will learn the French alphabet, numbers, basic pronunciation, basic grammar, simple vocabulary and phrases to begin to converse in everyday situations.  Children will receive a lesson summary each week so that parents can know what their children are learning and help them continue to learn at home.

Montgomery resident, Rolf Anderson, is the instructor.  Rolf studied French in Connecticut every year in grades 7 through 12 (Levels 1 through 6). His father spoke fluent French. After high school Rolf lived in Belgium for one year on a dairy farm and spoke French every day.  Rolf has directed the Hazen’s Notch Children’s Summer Camp in Montgomery the past 15 years.  He has also taught students in 4th through 6th grade in Montgomery and Waterville for several years – as well as adults. He is offering introductory classes here in Fairfield on Fridays!   Enrollment will be limited to ensure active participation and individual attention.

Sign up for the class through the library or submit a request online.  Two sessions are currently offered.  All classes are held on Friday afternoons at the library.  Grades 4 & 5 will meet from 3 – 4:30 ($15 per class).  Grades 1 & 2 will meet from 4:30 – 5 ($5 per class).
